After you die, your soul and body will go to heaven or hell. God has told you through the Bible what heaven and hell will be like.
What is heaven like?
Heaven (or sometimes referred to in some Bible translations as the heavens) is where God lives with angels and his people. God rules the universe and carries out God’s sovereign plan from heaven (Genesis 28:17; Revelation 12:7-8, 21:2, 10). You were made for a relationship with God in the place of heaven for eternity. God will transform you to be spiritually perfect if you believe and trust in God. Since God has spoken through the Bible, you should look to the Bible for information about heaven. When anyone describes heaven, you should “test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21 NLT) and consistent with the Bible’s description of heaven. God wants you to set your heart on heaven as you learn about heaven. “Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God” (Colossians 3:1 NIV).
