WHAT WILL NOT BE IN HEAVEN?

WHAT WILL NOT BE IN HEAVEN?

There will be no harmful germs, bacteria, or viruses in heaven.

Nothing that would make heaven imperfect or impure will be in heaven.

In heaven, there will be no curse of sin in heaven that leads to physical and spiritual death, aging process, evil, abuse, suffering, pain, hunger, sorrow, wars, murders, worrying, depression, loneliness, sickness, stress, etc. (Revelation 21:4). “ Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Christians)” (Revelation 21:27). God’s perfect love will also drive out fear from heaven (1 John 4:18).

You will have close loving relationships with others with no conflicts, envy, jealousy, gossiping, lust, or betrayal. There will be laughter, but not ridicule. There will be no pastors, priests, or churches in the new heaven and earth because they won’t be necessary when you directly worship and have a relationship with God. Therefore, the main difference between earth and heaven is that earth has been corrupted by the curse of sin, but God’s glory perfects heaven and makes it spiritually pure. You will not sin, but still have free will.

The promise of no more death in heaven (Revelation 21:4) is also a promise of no more sin in heaven. Therefore, you won’t sin because of your transformed nature, including but not limited to no death, means that your nature will not allow you to sin. Your inability to sin does not mean you will not have free will in heaven. Just like God cannot sin because of God’s nature and God still has free will, you will not sin because of your nature and you will still have free will.

The apostle Paul explained that when Christians are united with Christ in the resurrection, they will not sin.  “For if we have been united with him (Jesus Christ} in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin” (Romans 6:5-7 ESV). Christ’s ultimate purpose for his bride the Christian church is “present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:28 ESV). Finally, while currently your sinful nature is tempted by the world and Satan, in heaven the problems of sin and Satan are forever resolved. “But nothing unclean will ever enter it (the new heaven and new earth), nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Christians)” (Revelation 21:27 ESV).
