Why should you seriously consider these questions?

Why should you seriously consider these questions?

Why does it matter if God exists?

If God exists, then you should have a healthy respect or fear of God. If God has the power to create and destroy everything that exists, then many questions about God naturally follow. Why did God create you? How does God communicate with you? What is God like? Does he want to have a relationship with you? Are the Christian truth claims about God true? If God does not exist, then life is meaningless. You can find temporary meaning in this life in your family, friends, career, and community, but after you die, it all ends.

Pascal’s wager

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was a famous French mathematician, physicist, inventor, philosopher, writer, and Christian theologian. In a collection of his writings, Pensées (1657–58), Pascal posed the following argument to show that belief in the Christian religion is rational: If the Christian God does not exist, the agnostic/atheist loses little by believing in him and gains correspondingly little by not believing. If the Christian God does exist, the agnostic/atheist gains eternal life in heaven by believing in him and loses an infinite good by not believing. In relation to your investigation about God and Christianity, we are all wagering on belief or non-belief.  There is no absolute proof for either position. We are all hoping we are right. We are all risking something. If Christians are wrong, then they are risking relatively little by a life spent following the virtuous teachings of Jesus such as treating others how you want to be treated (Matthew 7:12, Luke 6:31). If you don’t believe in God and the truth claims of Christianity, then you are risking an eternity apart from God in hell. So, there is more of a downside risk at stake if you don’t believe in God.  Have you taken your investigation about God and Christianity as seriously as you should considering the risks?  Have you also honestly questioned why you don’t believe?   We sincerely pray that Clear & Convincing Christianity will help you accelerate your investigation and spiritual journey regarding exploring the profound questions about God and Christianity.
