YOUR PROBLEM AND GOD’S SOLUTION

God is holy or pure.

God is pure (Habakkuk 1:13; Romans 3:23) and perfect (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23).

Heaven is God’s place of purity and perfection (1 Corinthians 15:20-53; Revelation 21:1-8).

God cannot tolerate imperfection or evil in his presence (Habakkuk 1:13; Psalm 5:4-6).

Hell is separation from God after death (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

God is just.

God will judge you after your death (John 5:29; Revelation 20:12).

God’s justice will be perfect (Mark 4:22; Matthew 12:26, 36).

God does not weigh your good deeds against your bad deeds/sins (Galatians. 3:11; Romans 3:28, 10:3).

Our good deeds are like filthy rags to God (Isaiah 64:6).

God requires a sacrifice to satisfy his judgment for our bad deeds/sins (Deuteronomy 17:1).

In the Old Testament, God made a covenant in which he required sacrifices of bulls, lambs, goats, etc. because of mankind’s sin (Exodus 29:36, 30:10; Leviticus 4:1-35, 6:24-30, 17:11; Hebrews 9:22).
These were temporary sacrifices of valuable life forms.
These sacrifices had to be offered annually.
God promised a New Covenant in which God would put his law within mankind and write it on their hearts so that mankind would know God as mankind’s God. He would offer a perfect and final sacrifice, forgive mankind’s inequity, and remember mankind’s sin no more (Jeremiah 31:31-34).
In the New Testament, God fulfilled his New Covenant promise of a perfect (Deuteronomy 17:1; 1 Peter 3:18) and final sacrifice that demonstrated God’s attribute of love (Hebrews 9:22).

God is love.

God created you (Psalm 139:13-14).
God loves you (John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9).
God wants to have a relationship with you (Psalm 63:1-6; Hebrews 12:1-2).
God wants to have a relationship before and after you die (John 17:3).
But God will not force himself on you. (Revelation 3:20).

Your problem.

You must be spiritually perfect to have an eternal relationship with God (Isaiah 59:2; Mark 4:22).
But you are not spiritually perfect (Psalm 14:1-3; Romans 3:10, 23; James 2:10).

God’s solution.

God reconciles his holiness, justice, and love (Romans 3:23-27).

God states there is no greater love than sacrificial love (John 15:13).

God became human in the form of Jesus to sacrifice himself for you (Philippians 2:7).

Jesus’ sacrifice is a perfect sacrifice for your bad deeds/sins (Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5-6).  It is also a final sacrifice for your past, present and future bad deeds/sins (2 Corinthians 5:21).

You must be humble, repent (change your mind), admit you are not perfect, and need God’s sacrifice (Acts 17:30; 26:20).

You must accept God’s sacrifice as a gracious gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).

How does God transform you in this life after you accept God?

You should display an attitude of gratitude and try to obey God’s commands and be like Jesus with the Holy Spirit’s help (Colossians 3:12-17).

This is a life-long process since you are still not perfect in this life (Colossians 3:1-12).

You will be with God in the new heaven and new earth for eternity (Revelation 21:1-27, 22:1-21).

God (Jesus) may return to earth before you die to be with you (John 5:28).

If you die before God returns for you, you will be with God in heaven (2 Corinthians 4:16-5:8).
